According to Wikipedia A.R.Rahman is #44 on the top selling Artists in the world ad has sold more records than Deep Purple , Aerosmith , The Eagles and even Britney Spears . Asha Bhosle Weighs in at #178. Suprisingly Lata Mangeshkar is missing from the list. Maybe because she did not release that many albums but mainly did playback singing for films. BBC and CNN are reporting that my favorite band Pink Floyd is reuniting (for a single concert only though :-( ) for the Live 8 concert in aid of eradicating poverty in Africa. This is what David Gilmour said when asked about the split in the group.
"Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it's got to be worthwhile."
